Step Therapy Reform in Georgia
Advancing Health Equity
Empowering Families Through Shared Experience
In 2019, I joined a statewide coalition of patients, families, and clinicians to reform step therapy (“fail first”) policies in Georgia. Drawing on my experience as the parent of a child with inflammatory bowel disease, I helped illustrate how insurance delays can worsen disease, increase costs, and undermine physician-led care.
Collaborated with national healthcare organizations to advance health equity through committee leadership, patient engagement, caregiver advocacy, and efforts to reduce barriers to care.
